My first car was a 1949 Willys Jeep.  The windshield wipers ran on a vacuum off of the engine.  It was rugged & I loved it.  There is a story on Facebook about Cindy Hubbard, Cathy Custer & Sally Barnhart & I wrecking it in a field in Benjamin Hills.  Our Knight in shining armour, Gary Dannar graciously dug us out.  The result of this was 1/2 a windshield which I "repaired" with saran wrap & duct tape.  I told my Step Dad that we were vandalized in the Taco Grande parking lot & to this day I think he still believes that.  

I always gave Tom Wiseman a ride to school in the mornings & made him sit on that side in case the saran wrap broke (which happened quite frequently in freezing temps) poor guy... I know that was cruel but... he didn't seem to mind TOO much. ;)  That always an excuse to stop at Jacque Scotts & skip first hour so we could watch "F Troop"! ~~ Kim Krug Swisher
