Wichita North High School
Class Of 1971

Welcome to the Wichita High School North Class of 1971 web site!

This is the “Real 50th Reunion” Save the Dates Announcement!

We will be gathering to celebrate our 50th Reunion on Thursday, Sept. 29th, Friday, Sept. 30th, and Saturday, Oct. 1st, 2022.

Knowing that we would be competing for venues with all the classes having their reunions next year anyway, but in addition, with all the other classes like us who cancelled or postponed their reunions this year, your 50th Reunion Committee has been busy. And thanks primarily to the efforts, once again, of Janet Fox Petersen, we are sitting pretty despite the obstacles and sticky wickets we’ve had to negotiate.

Thursday night, September 29th 6:30 - 11:00pm

Prairie Hill Vineyard

21421 W 37th ST N

Colwich, KS 67030

The first night of our reunion will be held outside at the Prairie Hill Vineyard at Stockemer Farm, a beautiful 20-acre property with ponds, water features, and a vineyard on a farm that has been in the same family for well over a century.  If you couldn’t make it this year, you don’t know what you’re missing-it’s a fantastic venue.

Pro tip:  Get there before dark to fully appreciate it.

Friday night, September 30th, 5 - 7pm

The Atrium inside The Hotel at Old Town

830 E 1st St N, (First and Mosley)

Wichita, KS 67202

We’ll meet from 5 - 7pm in the Atrium inside The Hotel at Old Town, (cash bar), then move to another venue in Old Town within walking distance.  There, we can eat, drink, hang out, and compare lies.

Saturday night, October 1st 7 - 12pm

Margaritas Cantina

3109 E Douglas Ave

Wichita, KS 67211

For $3.00 per person we’ll have the upstairs to ourselves and people can order food &/or drinks if they like.  While looking into potential sites for our Saturday night event, Janet Fox discovered that Margaritas co-owner Johnathan Wood is the son of Phillip Wood. Phillip Wood was in our class for one year, as a senior, after moving to Wichita from Australia. His father was the minister at Central Christian Church.  Rumor has it Margaritas is remodeling its upstairs beginning in January.

Once again, The Hotel At Old Town will make a block of rooms available to us at a discount, and I’ll post that information soon.  I was told that we are the 5th class to request a block of rooms that weekend, and while business travel is still soft, the weekends are doing well and getting busier and busier.

By having our reunion then, it will coincide with the WHSN Annual All School Reunion Weekend, with all the associated tours and activities.

Watch this space for updates, and we look forward to seeing all of you next fall!
