School Story:
Fondest memories would have to include Powder Puff football, attending the "Jae Pierce" comedy hour, bowling every Saturday morning with Cindy Hubbard, and paving the way for the advancement of high school womens' athletics. So much has changed since Title IX was passed in the mid 70s. Prior to Title IX, there weren't regional play-offs or state championships for high school womens sports of any kind. We had a great basketball & softball program, but unable to compete beyond the city league schedule. During my 3 years at North we didn't lose a basketball game or softball game. I contribute my good fortune from the discipline, work ethic, teamwork, positive attitude and competitive spirit developed playing high school sports. Also, I want to thank Karen James, Jae Pierce, Mary Womer, Janet Fox, and Sue Richards for all of their hard efforts playing softball during our 7th grade summer. If I overlooked any of my former team mates, please accept my apology. It becomes more difficult as I get older to remember all of the great players.
